When the suggestion is first made to new mothers to be that they should talk and read books to their babies while they are still in the womb it often appears a ridiculous suggestion to make.

If you read books to your baby from before he is even born and use baby books to help your baby associate objects with words from a very early age the quicker your baby will learn his first words and learn to communicate.

If you want to give your baby a good start in life make sure you always respond to your baby when he starts to communicate, talk to your baby as you go about your daily chores, read books to your baby, spend time with your baby showing him pictures in simple baby books and telling him what the pictures are, repeat the same words and show him the same baby books over and over again.
