The posture is the position in which people hold their body upright against gravity when they are standing, sitting or sleeping. A good posture is achieved after training your body to stand, walk, sit and lie in a way that allows you to place the least strain on supporting muscles and ligaments during movement or while you are not moving. Sleepy Wrap Classic Wrap Baby Carrier, Gray, 0-18 Months Review

I have three kids under the age of five, so free hands are a necessity when out in public. When I was pregnant wit my thrid after reading several reviews I told my mom this is what I wanted for a baby gift. Her reply was, "You know its just a long piece of fabric right? And it looks complicated, your never going to use it."

Love the mama, but she was wrong on this one! I have owned several front carriers, slings, wraps and the Sleepy Wrap is by far my favorite and has been a life saver over the past nine months.

Oh ya, and don't be timid, its a lot easier to put on than it looks.

Pros:
* It's comfortable for all! I can wear it for hours and not have a problem. And my little one was so comfortable in it (and still is today at 9 months).
* Easily adjustable (I'm 5'3, my hubby is 6'1 so we can not constantly having to readjust straps when we trade off)
* Easy to pack, easy to store

Cons:
* I'm really short so I have a lot of extra material, I wish they would make a smaller size for those of us under 5'6". On the other hand, I just wrap it around once more and its fine.
* Its hot, but I live in Houston so ever carrier/wrap is hot. However between Sept and May it works great.

Tips for using it:
*It take a couple of times out to figure out of it fits on your body. The higher up on your sternum the fabric crosses, the higher you will carry the child.
* Tie it tight.
* If going out to a store, try putting it on at home (minus the baby of course) so you don't have to do it in the parking lot.

Original Sleepy Wrap Baby Carrier (Navy Blue) Review

I received the Sleepy Wrap as a baby shower gift, and it has proven itself to be a fantastic product. My son is currently 4 months old, and he is a frequent eater (breastfeeds every 1-2 hours) who takes very few daytime naps. He also wants to be held constantly and cries if laid down or left alone too long. The Sleepy Wrap is the only way I can get him to nap longer than 30 minutes during the day! He will often sleep for 2-3 hours in the wrap, waking for a snack and then back off to sleep. I'm a full-time student taking classes online, and I can study and surf the internet with baby wrapped against me! It's the only way I can get things done during the day. If you are a fan of Attachment Parenting, this product is perfect.

I also use the Wrap when going out and about. I simply put the wrap on at home, then transfer him into the wrap from the car seat and carry him with me in stores, at the mall, etc. He either looks around happily or sleeps peacefully. A much better alternative than carrying a carseat, lugging along a stroller, or finding a shopping cart to place the carseat into. The Wrap is extremely comfortable when standing or walking, and I have no problems with back or neck pain while carrying my son, who is currently 15 lbs.

My son was developing a flat spot on his head, and one of the ways I helped treat this was by keeping him in the Wrap. There is no external pressure on his head, so it's much better than laying him in a swing, bouncer or crib.

I can even breastfeed my son in the Wrap. The website says no repositioning is required, but I find that I do have to reposition my son, from side to side and sometimes further down my chest, in order to feed him. It is not a completely discreet way to feed, so I use my Jelly Bean nursing cover over it.

If you have a fussy or needy baby, I highly recommend getting this wrap. We also have a Baby Bjorn, which my husband often wears, and he prefers the Sleepy Wrap for both his and baby's comfort.

The only con of the Sleepy Wrap is that it takes practice to put it on just right, but after about a dozen times it becomes second nature. Also, as I mentioned above, I do have to reposition him to nurse, which often leaves the Wrap stretched and I have to re-wrap it in order to get the snug fit I desire.

Let me explain...

One of the best helping hands for most businesses is a simple and effective management system that identifies, then reduces risks, trains your staff to reduce errors, rework and missed opportunities and builds in feedback.

• You may decide to only audit one system but run all of them and if they are fully integrated, your external audit will help you keep them all up to speed so that you get the benefits at a lower cost.

• You can think carefully about which auditing body you want to use. I recommend smaller auditing bodies for small business because their costs are often lower - like $1,200 per day instead of $1,800 from some of the larger companies and some of them specialise in working with small business and understand you have simpler systems.

• If you need the highly recognised big company logos for your marketing, then your auditing fees are well worth it and much cheaper than many other forms of advert. Every business is different.

One very real benefit of an external audit is that tomorrow walks in the door and you have a deadline to keep your system up to scratch. You will get greater efficiency and reduced stress!

Just imagine not needing to deal with staff errors and what is even worse, covered up errors that come back to bite much worse than if they had admitted it up front.

Other benefits are access to tenders and large contracts and logos that help with your marketing.

I have been running audited systems since the late 1980s and it is simply the way I do business. It allows me to run effectively with minimal staff and I fully recommend you have an audited managed system.

We bought our MOBY wrap on the way home from the hospital with our newborn and over the last three months have used it constantly.

All the reasons I love the MOBY:
-It's 100% cotton which makes it super light and breathable and really easy to clean & wash.
-There are TONS of great colors to choose from!
-The price tag is AWESOME compared to more expensive brands like Ergo, Bjorn, etc.
-There are no uncomfortable buckles or snaps to adjust. Again, it's just fabric.
-It tappers off towards each end to make the knot tying easier.
-All the edges are surged which means it doesn't have awkward seams.
-The tag in the middle makes it easy to find the middle which you need to find to put it on correctly.
-There are TONS of great positions that you can use as your baby grows.
-Newborns are SUPER COZY in the MOBY and (in my opinion) can sleep better in it than any other carrier.
-There is even weight spreading so that either shoulder bears the brunt of the weight.
-a 25lb kid feels about as light as a 10 lb kid because of the awesome weight dispersion (I have actually switched out my 10lb baby for my friend's 25 lb baby and it seriously didn't feel that different!!)
-It works AWESOME for nursing moms - it doubles as a carrier/baby support AND nursing cover.
-Not to mention all the reasons you should "wear your baby" in general (they sleep better, they learn more, they are in the center of things without being the center of things, it promotes bonding and reduces maternal depression, etc).

Drawbacks:
-It will probably require watching an online video of how to put it on. The MOBY site has them and so does YOUTUBE.
-You probably should put it on BEFORE you leave the house since it's 15ft of fabric and can drag on the floor when you put it on.
-Hard to put on while sitting down (but totally possible).
-Takes up a fair amount of space in a travel bag.

In America, the practice of carrying babies on the mother or fathers body, is a relatively new concept, but it has been practiced in other cultures for many hundreds of years. In fact, there are records that date back to the time of the Ancient Egyptians showing children being carried by their parents. Today, the practice of using a sling or baby backpack is growing in popularity and many parents use these devices to carry their children.

While the practice of carrying a baby on a persons body has long been used by those in China and the East, they did not gain popularity until the sixties here in the West. There have, however, been many devices throughout our history, which were designed to make it easier to pick up a child. This includes things like baby baskets, movable cradles, and cradleboards.

The popularity of the baby backpack came about during the sixties, as a result of the increased popularity of structured soft backpacks. There were also several popular frame baby backpacks as well. The baby backpack is still popular today, but more and more parents are using baby slings.

A baby sling is made out of a soft cloth and allows the baby to be supported, in part by the parents body. These devices do not use any straps to hold the baby, but instead are held tightly in place by gravity. They are very safe for everyday use, but you would not want to go jogging wearing one.

There are several different kinds of slings available. The ring sling, is a type of sling that is made out of cloth and some metal or nylon rings. The cloth is wrapped around the parents body, starting at the shoulder, moving to the opposite hip, and back to the shoulder. It is then secured to the ring. Oonce it has been set-up, the ring sling can be removed, without having to re-thread it. Often these slings will have a padded shoulder and possibly padding around the edges of the cloth as well.

Another type of sling is the pouch sling, or tube sling, which is basically made out of a very wide piece of fabric. The fabric, forms a tube-like shape and is worn over the body, similarly to a sash. These can be used for children up until they reach toddlerhood. One advantage to this type of lift is that the child can quickly and easily be taken into and out of the sling. Many have been designed to include reinforced for the part that holds the baby and to make it more ergonomic on the parents back.

A third type of baby carrier, called the wrap, is also popular. Wraps usually consist of a fairly long piece of fabric, sometimes in excess of 20 feet, which is wrapped around both the parent and the baby, then tied. The length of the wrap will determine how it is worn, because there are several different ways to hold the baby. They can be carried on the back, front, or hip of the parent.

There are many other types of baby carriers that allow the baby to be worn on the parent. These have been used for many thousands of years by people all over the world.

It is usual that a baby's foreskin will not retract (pull back) and the foreskin may not actually fully retract for years. Mothers don't have personal experience of how to clean a boy's foreskin and are often unsure of what to do.

The following guideline will help you:

Firstly, never force the foreskin back. Forcing may cause a tear on the lining of the foreskin. Not only will this hurt your baby, but when the tear heals, the healed tissue will be tighter. If this keeps happening, your baby will end up with a tight foreskin which will not retract (pull back).
When you are bathing your baby, gently wash under the foreskin. Move it back as far as it will go - which isn't very far in the first years - and let any secretions that may have gathered under the foreskin out.
As your little boy grows, teach him to gently pull the foreskin back during bathing (letting out any debris that may have gathered underneath) but never to force the foreskin back.
Eventually, the foreskin will fully retract. Teach your son to pull it back fully while bathing to keep clean.

There are no medical reasons for routine circumcision. Most boys are circumcised for religious reasons.

Sometimes, the foreskin is tight and balloons out when your son pees. Occasionally, this condition (phimosis) will require circumcision. If your son has a very tight foreskin at age 5 years, he may need a circumcision. Occasionally, boys will get an infection under the foreskin, called balanitis. If this keeps happening, there will likely be some scarring of the inside of the foreskin which cause a tightness that may require circumcision. Circumcision involves cutting the foreskin off.

There is evidence that circumcised boys get less urinary tract infections than uncircumcised boys, but the risk of urinary tract infection is so low in most boys, that being uncircumcised doesn't matter. The risk of the operation for circumcision cancels out any benefit from preventing a urinary tract infection in most boys. Very few boys get a urinary tract infection, circumcised or not.

Careful attention to cleaning and care of the foreskin as outlined above should prevent your baby son having any problems.

Help! My baby is growing and my baby sling advertised from birth to toddler isn't as comfortable as I had hoped. What shall I do, buy another one or give up on 'babywearing?'

As an avid babywearer, I always feel disappointed when a parent feels they have to give up on carrying their child because they can't find a comfortable fit. Before packing your baby carriers away, give them one more chance with these simple steps.

1 - Read up

Take a moment to read the manufacturer's instructions. Is your baby sling suitable for your baby's age, weight and development? Some baby carriers can only be used from a certain age, or require an infant insert for young babies. Others are only suitable up to a certain weight. Just because a sling has been safety tested up to a certain weight doesn't mean that it's the easiest to use for an older child.

2 - Make it snug

Baby should be held snug. If you rock gently from side to side, he should stay tucked into you. If need be, push his weight up with one hand while you adjust the baby sling with the other.

3 - Wear it high

'Close enough to kiss' is the right position for your baby. Simply tilt your head forward to kiss his forehead. He should not slip down even after a few hours of carrying. If you find that he does then go back to step 2 and tighten your carrier.

4 - Slow down

Take the time to read the manufacturer's instructions, use the babywearing videos available on the internet. If need be, contact the shop where you purchased your baby sling to ask questions. Then put on your baby carrier step by step, there's no need to rush.

5 - Meet up

Find a sling meeting locally. Experienced 'babywearers' will share their tips and help you adjust your baby carrier to find a comfortable fit.

When the suggestion is first made to new mothers to be that they should talk and read books to their babies while they are still in the womb it often appears a ridiculous suggestion to make.

However, introducing your baby to books and chatting to them before they are born isn't as stupid as it sounds. Babies do start to learn language while they are still in the womb.

While in the womb, a baby learns to identify with his mother, recognise her voice and associate it with being safe and warm and by the time a baby is born he will have already taken his first steps towards learning language. A baby will have listened to his mother's voice and learnt from the books she had read and will already be well aware of what his mother sounds like from the day he enters the world.

A newborn baby will pay more attention to voice than any other sound. He will love to hear his mother's voice and cherish the attention that comes from his mother reading books to him every day.

It's never too soon to start reading books to your baby and introducing your baby to baby books. The sooner you start reading the quicker your baby will learn and the sooner you introduce your baby to baby books the quicker your baby will associate objects to words.

Your baby will generally utter his first words around five - six months of age. Just simple one syllable words but words that will have a very special meaning in your baby's life which is why a baby's first words are so often mama or dada.

Once your baby has uttered his first words others will quickly follow with your baby learning a handful of words every month. If you read books to your baby from before he is even born and use baby books to help your baby associate objects with words from a very early age the quicker your baby will learn his first words and learn to communicate.

If you want to give your baby a good start in life make sure you always respond to your baby when he starts to communicate, talk to your baby as you go about your daily chores, read books to your baby, spend time with your baby showing him pictures in simple baby books and telling him what the pictures are, repeat the same words and show him the same baby books over and over again.

1. DON'T let you baby sleep on her/his stomach.

It was discovered that babies who sleep on their back or sides lower their chances. Instead of having blankets in the crib, buy the blanket sleepers to keep your baby warm.

Don't use bumper pads in the crib or basinette or have toys in it either. So have nothing in the crib but the baby. And remind anyone who takes care of your baby to make sure that baby is put to sleep on her/his back.

2. Don't have hot drinks while wearing your baby in a sling or front carrier.

Also cooking while you have your baby in a sling or carrier is just too dangerous. I trust I don't need to explain.

3. Don't give soda to your baby ever!

This is like giving your baby pure poison. Believe it or not when I was growing up I actually saw mothers put soda in the baby's bottle.

4. You have heard of babies dying because they have been shaken.

So I know how it feels when you have a baby that just won't stop crying. I read an alarming statistic. It said that about 50% of all adults have no clue that a baby can die or get brain damage if shaken!

You must make sure that anyone who might take care of your baby knows this. Here is a short list of some signs that someone may have done this to your baby.

* Baby won't eat very much

* Vomiting

* Extreme irritability

* Does not lift head even though your baby was doing so before.

* Baby doesn't act the same after someone else has babysat for you.

5. Please keep your baby away from people who are smoking including you.

I think you have heard about second hand smoke and it's dangers? If it's possible for you, quit smoking if you're breast feeding.

Whatever you consume goes through your body and may end up in your breast milk.

6. Don't leave your baby alone in the car ever.

Not even for one second. I saw a newspaper article about a woman who had left her car running and ran into her friends house to get something.

Well somehow she had locked the car with the keys inside! Luckily emergency services was able to get the baby out before anything serious happened.

7. Don't give your baby any honey before the age of three.

I found out that there could be botulism spores in it. And, baby's belly cannot deal with these spores at this time.

8. You should not feed your baby solid food too early.

First of all there is the danger of choking. Wait until your baby is at least four months old and then there is actually a chart listing what foods to begin with and how to add the foods to your baby's diet.

9. No fast food ever for your baby please.

Just recently I read an article stating the that a town in California and a town in Europe are banning fast food places from their area.

10. No cow's milk ever.

You must think I'm crazy but hear me out. In my previous article I stated that many diseases have been linked to the consumption of milk and whey.

I encourage you to take this baby care advice into consideration.

I bought this for my second child. It has become such a part of our lives, I can't imagine life without it. Sometimes I think it is a magic sling. Baby loves to be in it. It calms baby during fussy times. It lulls baby to sleep. It helps mama chase after big sibling while still holding baby. It goes with us everywhere: on trips, to restaurants, at church. I can sit through a 45-minute sermon with baby quietly sitting or sleeping in this sling! My husband wore baby to a conference and attended presentations with baby quietly in this sling! We go out to eat and to weddings with baby in this sling! We are confident enough to take baby anywhere, because we know this sling will work its magic.

I am surprised by how comfortable it is. I find it much more comfortable than a BabyBjorn, for example. The shoulder strap is well-padded and really distributes baby's weight evenly. I have no soreness or aches from using this sling. Just be sure to follow the instructions and place the strap on your shoulder and not on your neck.

The elastic rail is great for holding baby in place. The pocket (which is on both slides) is perfect for holding a pacifier, baby toy, or other small object.

I bought brown because I wanted it not to clash with most of my clothes (and I always wear brown shoes). I have noticed that it has faded slightly from exposure to sunlight, but this has not affected the sling's performance or attractiveness, so it does not bother me.
